The Browns move to 2-0 in the Preseason after a dominant win vs the defending champs. The story of this game was Dillon Gabriel and seeing what he could do with the start today. An impressive opening drive finished off by a Ahmani Marshall rushing touchdown gave the Browns the start they needed. Gabriel had a solid first quarter connecting with receivers Jamari Thrash, Cedric Tillman, and Kaden Davis. A miscommunication between Diontae Johnson and Dillon Gabriel resulted in a Pick 6 for the Eagles. Outside of the Interception and a missed handoff, Gabriel showcased the accuracy and arm strength that made his collegiate career so successful.
Throughout the first half the Browns remained in control on both sides of the ball. The 2nd half gave way to Tyler Huntley who kept the Browns lead alive which eventually resulted in a victory. Players such as Gage Larvadain, Nathaniel Watson, and KJ Henry are making cases why they deserve spots on the 53 with strong performances so far this preseason.
The Browns finished with 331 total yards on offense and only allowed 88 total yards by the Eagles. Through 2 preseason games the defense looks very good and deeper than last season. Offensively the Browns have showed flashes both through the air and on the ground with both rookie QBs. The next step is naming a starter and figuring out what the roster will look like heading into the final week of preseason action.
The Browns will wrap up their 2025 preseason by hosting the Los Angeles Rams at 1:00 EST at Huntington Bank Field next Saturday.
