The Cleveland Browns signed two-time Super Bowl champion Juan Thornhill in 2023 to a 3 year, $21 million deal. Since then, Thornhill, who earned the name "Jog Thornhill" after giving disappointing effort in a game against the Saints this past season, has logged only 4 pass deflections and 0 interceptions.

The departure of Thornhill appeared to be mutual, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, who was first on the news, stating that the Browns and Thornhills' camp have been in contact the past couple days regarding this potential split. The move saves the Browns roughly $3.4 million in cap space.

Cleveland will undoubtedly be in the free agent market for a new starting safety, as well as for some depth after losing Rodney McLeod to retirement. Some intriguing names include New York Jets Ashtyn Davis, Colts Julian Blackmon, and Jacksonville Jaguars Andre Cisco.
